Emerging Churches – Gibbs & Bolger

Ok, I’ve decided it was a bad idea to start working through a book I’ve already read. I can’t stay motivated to blog through it! So, I’m switching horses midstream – something I’ve always been warned about. Instead of N.T. Wright’s Simply Christian, a wonderful book, I’m going to start reading Emerging Churches by Eddie Gibbs and Ryan K. Bolger. I have a great deal of interest in the Emerging Church and resonate with a lot of what I’ve heard and experienced from that school of thought. However, this will be the most recent work I’ve read on the Emerging Church itself apart from people influenced by that sensibility such as Donald Miller and Brian McClaren. I will try to maintain the discipline of reading a chapter and then posting.
