Mark Them Down

Here is a great article by Garrison Keillor. I can’t imagine how our congress sees this as a healthy direction for our nation. Don’t get me wrong; it is important to guard against terrorism. However, I don’t think it is the right move to give so much power to the office of president. His title might be Commander in Chief, but I do not agree that he should have this kind of authority. It’s scary. Republicans would be going nuts if the bill said that folks could have their guns taken away in the same way we can detain “suspects.” Why are we more concerned about our stuff than other human beings?
